Below are the most frequently asked questions about renting a storage unit, accessing your facility, billing, security, climate-controlled storage and more. We offer a wide variety of units at each of our locations. Center Marks Self Storage, Cossett Creek Self Storage and North Royalton Storage are all self storage storage facilities. Units start as small as 5x5 and go up to 10x30. Center Marks Self Storage does offer a few other larger sizes ranging from 12x30 to 12x50. Rt. 303 is a commercial facility that also offers a wide range of storage options, but on average carries 18x24, 18 x 32, 18 x 40 and 18 x 64 units. Between the four facilities, the chances are high that we will have something that meets your needs. All of our current availability and pricing will show under each locations' page.
Yes! We are pleased to offer both indoor storage for smaller vehicles and outdoor parking spaces for RVs, boats, campers and more.
Center Marks Self Storage, Cossett Creek Self Storage and North Royalton Storage all have 10x2o drive up accessible units that are ideal for storing a vehicle inside. Center Marks Self Storage and Rt.303 Storage offer outdoor parking spaces that range in size, but are large enough for all vehicle types.
Rt. 303 Storage is the only facility that offers power as an optional amenity. All tenants at Rt. 303 Storage enjoy over head lighting in their units included in the rent.
All Leader Storage tenants, regardless of which facility, enjoy 24/7 access. Unlike other facilities, we do not have limited access or charge more for 24/7 access. We treat 24/7 access as a standard, not an opportunity to charge more.
Our lease terms are month to month. Your lease begins on the day that you start and goes through the same day of the following month. To end your lease, we ask for 7 days notice and for you to complete the Intent to Vacate Form.
Our approach to security is proactive rather than reactive. All Leader Storage facilities are gated and only accessible with personalized tenant gate codes. Each facility has cameras throughout. Our team performs many routine checks including lock checks, daily visits, camera checks, gate log reviews and more. Even when a team member is not directly onsite, our team is aware of what is going on.
Center Marks Self Storage and North Royalton Storage are proud partners with StorageDefender which allows us to offer smart units which a similar to having a Ring Doorbell for your storage unit.
Like with all products and services we expect and encourage you to shop our storage facilities. If we are currently offering promotions, they will show on the specific location page in the unit table. We do understand that at times, there are facilities offering more enticing introductory rates, but we encourage you to consider other factors including the following:
- Hidden fees, required purchases and rate increase strategies
- Features such as access to the facility, what level the unit is on and the surface the facility is built on
- Are there local team members available to answer your questions or concerns as they arise?
- Required lengths leases
At Leader Storage, we can confidently say that we do not have hidden fees or required purchases and only do small rate increases as needed to keep up with rising operational cost. All of facilities feature 24/7 access, the units are located on the ground level and the facilities are built on concrete or asphalt. Anytime you call us, you'll get the same handful of team members that you always do.
So while some others may offer a more attractive rate, it is important to consider more than just price alone.
We are always happy to help. For prospective purposes, here are some of the most popular unit sizes explained:
5x5: Small closet - perfect for a few boxes and totes and a 1-2 small pieces of furniture
10x10: Ideal for 1-2 bedroom apartment with boxes, totes and smaller to medium size furniture pieces
10x20: Equal to a small 1 car garage. Ideal for a car or a full house with an average amount of belongings.
10x25 and larger: Ideal for storage for a 3-4 bedroom home with other belongings including appliances, garage contents, office furniture, baby furniture, etc.
Most of our units are at least 8ft. in height so the nice thing about that is that you can get creative and stack your items to create more space.

For the protection of our tenants and their belongings, we do require that all of our tenants have insurance to cover the contents of their belongings. Tenants may either choose to insure their items through private insurance or by purchasing insurance through us. Should you elect to use the private insurance option, you must provide proof insurance within 14 days of your move in and each time the policy renews. Failure to provide proof of insurance does result in automatic enrollment in the policy offered by our company as agreed upon as part of the terms of your move in. Once valid proof of insurance is provided, we can remove the insurance policy and related charges from your account. We do not back date proof of insurance however.

Per the terms of the lease and in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code, tenants receive a late fees after 5 days of being past due. At the same time, tenants are locked out of the facility and unit until payment is received. Our team can waive one late fee as a one time courtesy only.
No, for safety and accessibility, the only time vehicles can be parked outside of the unit is when tenants are at the facility and actively moving in and out.
You rent a unit by calling us or by visiting the Locations Page and selecting the facility you wish to rent from.
Most of our team works remotely out of our main office and each of the facilities are visited daily by a team member. Should you require in person assistance, you may call us to arrange an appointment time to meet with someone at our Center Marks location office.
To cancel your lease, please provide us with 7 days notice and complete the Intent to Vacate Form
Yes, Center Marks Self Storage, North Royalton Storage and Cossett Creek Storage offer climate-control units. Climate-control units are perfect for those storing items that are sensitive to climate changes and are looking for added peace of mind.
Generally speaking, the doors at Center Marks Self Storage, North Royalton Self Storage and Cossett Creek Self Storage are 8 ft. high and the doors at Rt. 303 Storage are 14 ft, but please call us for more unit based specifics as the door sizes do vary slightly depending on the location and the building.
We handle snow removal through a third party contractor. Is is important to note that our contractor does service essential businesses including hospitals and gas stations which may cause delays in the event of a big storm. Our contractor does not apply salt to preserve our steel buildings and only plows the aisle ways. Snow removal directly in front of the unit doors is the tenant's responsibility. To make this part of the snow removal process easier, there is a shovel located at the office door at each of our facilities. When possible, we ask you to avoid visiting the facility during big winter storms.
Leader Storage is a locally owned and operated business. We support many other local businesses and contribute to the local economy by hiring as many local vendors and contractors as possible. We have fair and straightforward pricing with no hidden fees, admin fees or required purchases through us. We work extremely hard to make your storage experience and each time you call us your going to speak with the same team members you're used to speaking with and who have worked for the business for many years.
All Leader Storage facilities operate under the Ohio Revised Code. According the Ohio Revised Code, past due tenants are eligible for default after 35 days of being past due, their locks can be cut ten days after that and the auction can take place 30 days after the lock cut. Leader Storage will never take any of these actions before they are allowed by the Ohio Revised Code.
Absolutely. Most of our team prefers being able to visualize things first too. Give us a call and we can get everything set up for you to be able to view any of our available units.
If the unit is denying you access, it is likely that you are 5 or more days past due. To regain access, please make a payment. Once payment is received, the gate typically will reinstate your access in about 5 minutes. If the gate is not opening and your account is current, please call us during normal business hours at the facility phone number. Should you have gate issues unrelated to your account balance after hours, please utilize the phone number listed on the gate at the facility.
Generally speaking, we do not allow foot traffic through our gates as our gates only open upon exit when they sense a vehicle. For the convenience of our tenants, Rt. 303 Storage and Cossett Creek Self Storage do have pedestrian gates, but Center Marks Self Storage and North Royalton Storage only are accessible by vehicle. If you come through in a vehicle and try to exit on foot, you will not be able to.
Aisle sizes vary, but as a general standard we try to keep them 25-30ft at all of the facilities. There may be slight variance depending on the facility and the aisle way. If you need more specific information regarding an aisle way, please contact us by phone. We are always happy to help.

Payments can be made through the website, through automatic payment, through one of our team members via phone or through our automated phone system.
Davinci Locks are the lock system that we use to overlock past due tenants at most of our facilities. If you have recently made a payment and still have a Davinci lock on your unit, the code should have been texted to you to remove the lock. There is also an instruction card attached to the lock on how to retrieve the code to remove the lock. All overlocks must be returned to our drop box to avoid a fee.
You can change your payment method through our automated phone system, by calling and speaking with one of us directly or by logging into your account by selecting your location through our Locations Page.
Our lease terms strictly prohibit storage of hazardous, toxic, flammable and dangerous substances. We do not allow any perishable items, food items or trash to be stored at the facility. The space may not be used for human or animal occupancy.
